Transport for NSW, TrainLink Booking & Payments Portal

A mobile-first responsive web application.

  • In 2018, the decommissioning of the separate NSW TrainLink website occurred, which saw the rebuild of its booking and payments portal merge with the flagship website of Transport for NSW.

  • Transport NSW wanted to create a one-stop shop for everything public transport related, so users have the ability to find and book tickets all in one single, streamlined place.

  • The release of the app saw a shift from the product offering of purely informational, to both informational and transactional, which required security and data protection, as well as hosting.

  • Terem was engaged to work alongside Transport for NSW’s internal delivery team to provide a mobile first web responsive and compliant booking and payment portal to integrate seamlessly within the Transport for NSW website.

Achievements

  • Terem delivered the minimum viable product and provided development support capabilities working with Transports’ internal cross-functional delivery team to deliver mobile first responsive web application within transportnsw.info website.

  • Terem provided insights into data and payment security to achieve Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) compliance and integration. PCI-DSS certification safeguard’s a customers credit card information in any event of a security incident.

  • Terem ensured best practices were held to when designing mobile-first to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. A requirement for government website compliance.
