Qantas Biometric Check-In
Qantas is constantly experimenting with new and emerging technologies to deliver better customer service and remain competitive in the global market.
Terem was engaged to build a proof of concept around new biometric technologies that simplified the process of travellers proving their identity at airport gates.
Terem utilised cutting edge mobile technology to prototype and test a mobile app, which allowed customers to do a facial “biometric check-in” by taking a picture of the face.
Passengers submitted their passport information digitally from home. This allowed them to freely pass through the biometric gates at the airport without having to pull out their passport.
Terem oversaw closed trials in Brisbane where the technology was successfully rolled out and received favourable feedback from passengers.
